Hello all,
I hope this reaches you all in good health with your family and loved ones safe and well. It’s been a wild ride since March and the world as we know it has had some very drastic changes. At Perryway Players, we’ve tried to keep the camp going. Just before the doors were closed, we managed to hold our first ever annual awards dinner and dance, which was very well attended and we all had a blast celebrating our achievements. Congratulations to all of the winners and nominees. Special thank you to Ley Bistro for catering and ProLX Productions for lighting, sound and making the awards look so spectacular. .
Sadly our spring production, The Play That Never Was (no pun intended) was postponed due to the pandemic. May I pass my gratitude to Julie Ryan for her amazing efforts in not only writing the script but also directing. We will bring your vision to life at the earliest opportunity. I would also like to thank the team behind the production for putting in the effort for rehearsals and backstage for getting the set ready to go. During lockdown, we have been adapting to life away from Cadbury Hall through Zoom video calls. I have to say it has brought the group even closer. Every Tuesday we have been holding online virtual quiz nights which have been attended very well.
Huge thanks to Rachael Merrett and Henry Beck for being our resident quiz masters. We also have held our committee meetings each month without fail and the committee has been working tirelessly behind the scenes perfect processes, planning the way forward and keep the group ticking.
We have also planned out maintenance work to improve all of infrastructure from tech to rollers on the stage which will be implemented when it is safe to do so. A special mention to Frampton Community Association for their support.
This has been paramount in our ability to move forward and as of today, we are proud to announce that we will deliver our annual pantomime in January 2021.
A huge thank you to Michelle and the team at Ley Bistro on the green for their continued support in sponsoring our pantomime once again. Sponsorship enables us to continue to put on the best productions possible, so thank you. If you’re in the area, pop in and give them a visit for a bite to eat and refreshments.
I would also like to thank the team of Rachael Merrett and Henry Beck for their amazing efforts to ensure we have a production in the new year and wish them success as they make their directorial debut as a team. Jack and the Beanstalk will begin auditions in August via video conferencing and rehearsals will take place in a safe manner as the situation develops. Anyone wishing to partake either onstage or behind the scenes must register online at WWW.PERRYWAYPLAYERS.COM by midnight on Wednesday 13th August 2020.
We have entertained the community of Frampton on Severn for over 83 years and it makes me so proud to lead this award winning group forward through these uncertain times, to once again carry on entertaining our wonderful community. Rest assured we will be following strict guidelines and review regularly, in-line with Government guidance. As always, we are always on the lookout for new members to join us, whether that’s to perform or join our team of backstage super heroes who build, design and create our wonderful sets – there is always a role that needs filling. Finally, thank you to our amazing NHS and all the key workers that have kept us safe and well. Stay safe,
